In a chilling crime that has shocked Uttar Pradesh, a 24-year-old man, Arshad, allegedly killed his mother and four sisters in a hotel in Lucknow. In a video recorded shortly after the act, Arshad claimed he was driven to commit the murders due to harassment from neighbors and land mafia in his hometown, Budaun.
The victims include his mother, Asma, and sisters Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), and Rahmeen (18). Arshad stated in the video that he choked them and slit their wrists, with his father allegedly assisting him.
Arshad accused local land mafias of capturing their home and planning to traffic his sisters. “Our family took this step due to harassment. The locals are responsible. They wanted to frame us and sell my sisters,” he alleged. He named several individuals he claimed were involved, including Ranu, Aftab, and Aleem Khan.
The video also revealed Arshad’s distress over the family’s plight, claiming they had been living on the streets for 15 days. He mentioned that they had sought help from various authorities but received none.
In a desperate plea, Arshad addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, requesting justice. “No family in India should be forced to do this. Give us justice in death if not in life,” he said.
Arshad also spoke about the family’s intention to convert to escape their struggles and requested that a temple be built on their land, with their belongings donated to an orphanage.
The murders took place at Hotel Sharanjit, where forensic teams have since collected evidence. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Lucknow, Raveena Tyagi, confirmed Arshad’s arrest at the crime scene.
The video, whose authenticity remains unverified, reflects the extreme desperation of a family pushed to the brink by alleged systemic failures and harassment. Investigations are underway to verify Arshad’s claims and uncover the motives behind this tragic act.
