Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Opens Applications for Driver and Conductor Posts to Boost Public Transport Services

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has officially announced a major recruitment drive for bus drivers and conductors across various regions of the state. The move aims to strengthen public transportation services and address staff shortages in key routes.

According to the official notification, TNSTC is inviting applications from eligible candidates for driver and conductor posts. The recruitment is expected to fill several hundred vacancies, ensuring smooth operations of bus services in urban and rural areas.

Candidates interested in applying must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • For Drivers: Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License, minimum age of 24 years, and basic educational qualification (usually SSLC/10th pass).
  • For Conductors: Minimum 10th pass, valid conductor license, and minimum age of 18 years.

Applicants are advised to carefully read the official recruitment guidelines regarding age relaxation, application fees, and selection process. The selection will be based on driving tests, written exams, and medical fitness assessments.

TNSTC has stated that priority will be given to local candidates and those with previous experience in public transport services. The recruitment also supports government job initiatives to generate employment within Tamil Nadu.

The application process will be conducted offline/online (as specified region-wise), and the last date for submission will be announced shortly. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply promptly to secure their participation in the selection process.

Successful candidates will be appointed under TNSTC’s pay scale for drivers and conductors, along with additional benefits including pension schemes, medical allowances, and paid leave.

Officials from TNSTC highlighted that this hiring initiative is a part of transport department reforms to ensure better public service delivery, reduce delays in bus operations, and enhance commuter safety across Tamil Nadu.

This recruitment drive is expected to not only improve employment opportunities but also support the state government’s efforts to upgrade public infrastructure and provide efficient mobility options to the public.

For further updates on exam dates, admit cards, and results, candidates should stay informed through official TNSTC channels.
