ABVP, HCU Students Protest Against Telangana Government Over Land Auction

Hyderabad, Telangana – Tensions escalated as members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and students from Hyderabad Central University (HCU) staged a protest against the Telangana government, alleging the auction of 400 acres of university land.

Protesters gathered in large numbers, demanding an immediate reversal of the decision, which they claim threatens the university’s future expansion and academic integrity.

Student Anger Over Alleged Land Sale

According to the protestors, the Telangana government has auctioned 400 acres of land that rightfully belongs to Hyderabad Central University. ABVP activists argue that this move undermines public education and prioritizes commercial interests over academic development.

Student leaders stated that the land is essential for future university projects, and selling it would limit research and infrastructure growth.

ABVP Demands Action

The ABVP condemned the government’s decision, stating that they would continue their agitation until the land auction is canceled. Protesters raised slogans against the authorities and accused them of prioritizing revenue generation over students’ interests.

ABVP representatives also called for greater transparency in land-related decisions, urging the government to safeguard educational institutions from commercial exploitation.

Telangana Government Yet to Respond

As the protest intensified, government officials have yet to issue an official response. Political analysts suggest that the issue could spark further tensions between the state administration and student bodies.

The demand for accountability and transparency in land allocations remains a major concern for both students and academic institutions.

Ongoing Protests and Future Actions

The ABVP and HCU students have vowed to continue their demonstrations until their demands are met. Reports suggest that the protest could gain momentum, with more student organizations likely to join in the coming days.

The Telangana government is expected to address the allegations soon, as pressure mounts from students and opposition parties.
