CM Chandrababu Naidu to Launch ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ Scheme with ₹7,000 Direct Cash Benefit for Farmers

The Andhra Pradesh government will roll out the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, providing ₹7,000 financial aid directly to eligible farmers, starting August 2025.

Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to officially launch the Annadata Sukhibhava Scheme, a flagship initiative to offer direct financial assistance of ₹7,000 to every eligible farmer in Andhra Pradesh. The scheme aims to improve the financial stability of the state’s agricultural community and support sustainable rural livelihoods.

The rollout is scheduled for early August 2025, with funds to be transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Objective of the Scheme

The Annadata Sukhibhava initiative seeks to:

  • Ease financial burden on small and marginal farmers

  • Offer timely support during sowing and harvesting periods

  • Promote agricultural productivity and rural welfare

The scheme is expected to benefit over 45 lakh farmers across Andhra Pradesh.

“The farmer is the backbone of our state. The government is committed to standing by them,” said CM Chandrababu Naidu during a pre-launch address.

Who Will Benefit?

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Farmers owning agricultural land up to 5 acres

  • Those registered with the state agriculture department

  • Aadhaar-linked bank accounts for fund transfer

Tenant farmers may also be considered under separate provisions to ensure inclusivity.

Fund Allocation & Implementation

The government has allocated ₹3,150 crore for the first phase of implementation. The scheme will be monitored by the Department of Agriculture in coordination with local revenue officials.

Each eligible farmer will receive:

  • A one-time annual support of ₹7,000

  • Funds disbursed in a single installment ahead of the Kharif season

Technology-Driven Disbursement

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the scheme will utilize:

  • Real-time beneficiary tracking portals

  • Aadhaar authentication for identity verification

  • Mobile alerts for disbursement confirmation

The State Data Center (SDC) and Village Secretariats will act as key support hubs for registration and grievance redressal.

Complementary Initiatives

The state government is also aligning Annadata Sukhibhava with other rural schemes like:

  • Free power supply for agriculture

  • Irrigation infrastructure upgrades

  • Crop insurance under PMFBY

  • Digital soil health cards for precision farming

This convergence aims to maximize benefits and reduce input costs for farmers.

Public Response

Farmer associations and rural stakeholders have welcomed the move. Many expressed relief as the financial aid will reduce loan dependency and improve investment in seeds and inputs.

“We thank the government for recognizing our needs. ₹7,000 will help us prepare for the next crop cycle,” said a farmer from Prakasam district.

Government’s Commitment to Agriculture

CM Naidu reiterated that agriculture will remain a priority sector under his administration. The scheme marks a return to pro-farmer governance and aims to address years of agrarian distress through timely fiscal support.
