The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit has launched a scathing attack on the recently presented Telangana Budget 2025, claiming that the figures are fabricated and disconnected from financial reality. BJP leaders described the budget as a political gimmick, accusing the ruling party of presenting cooked-up numbers to mislead the public.
According to BJP Telangana spokespersons, the state government has overestimated revenue and underreported expenses to create a false sense of fiscal stability. They alleged that key allocations for sectors like health, education, and infrastructure are inflated on paper but lack actual implementation on the ground.
“The Telangana Budget is not based on reality; it is a document of manipulated data, designed to deceive citizens and cover up the state’s financial mismanagement,” BJP leaders stated during a press briefing in Hyderabad.
The BJP further criticized the state’s debt burden, claiming that the government is pushing Telangana deeper into debt without transparency or accountability. They questioned the feasibility of the budget targets, especially in light of the state’s current financial status and pending welfare schemes.
BJP leaders demanded a detailed audit of state finances and called for the release of real data on revenue generation and spending. They also urged the Finance Minister of Telangana to explain the basis of the budget projections and how the government plans to fulfill them.
They warned that unrealistic budgets could lead to poor execution of development projects, delayed payments to beneficiaries, and a loss of public trust. The BJP pledged to raise the issue in the state assembly and mobilize public support for financial transparency.
Despite the criticism, the Telangana government has defended the budget, claiming it is visionary and development-oriented, focused on welfare, growth, and employment generation. However, BJP Telangana insists that the budget lacks clarity, feasibility, and accountability.
This political clash over the Telangana Budget 2025 reflects growing tensions between the ruling party and opposition ahead of upcoming civic and assembly elections. Budget promises and their implementation will likely become a major issue in the political discourse in the coming months.
