Chhattisgarh: Two Security Personnel Injured in IED Blast in Narayanpur, Evacuated for Treatment

IED Explosion in Narayanpur District Injures Two Security Personnel; Swift Medical Evacuation Carried Out

In a serious security incident, two security personnel were injured following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Narayanpur district, located in Chhattisgarh. The explosion occurred during a routine patrol in the region, which is known for Naxal-related activities.

Officials confirmed that the injured personnel were quickly evacuated from the blast site and shifted to a medical facility for urgent treatment. Both individuals are currently stable, and further medical evaluation is underway.

The incident took place in the dense forest area of Narayanpur, where security forces were conducting a combing operation to track the movement of insurgent elements. The IED device was believed to be planted by Naxalites, targeting security personnel on patrol.

Local police and CRPF units immediately secured the area and initiated a search operation to identify and neutralize any remaining threats. The incident has led to increased vigilance and reinforced security measures across Narayanpur and adjoining districts.

Senior police officials visited the site and reviewed the situation, assuring that counter-insurgency operations would continue with full force. They emphasized that such attacks would not deter the commitment of security forces to maintain peace and order in the region.

Chhattisgarh, particularly districts like Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Sukma, has witnessed sporadic IED blasts and ambushes over the years, as Naxal groups attempt to resist state development and policing efforts.

Authorities are also investigating the composition and triggering mechanism of the IED used in this blast. Preliminary reports suggest that the explosive was powerful and intended to cause maximum damage to patrolling forces.

The state government has condemned the attack and assured full support to the injured personnel and their families. Efforts are being made to provide them with best-in-class medical care and support during recovery.

This latest attack is a reminder of the persistent security challenges faced by forces operating in left-wing extremism (LWE) affected areas. However, the Chhattisgarh police, along with central forces, continue to strengthen their presence and operations to ensure safety and development in conflict-prone regions.

More updates are expected as the search operation progresses and officials assess the broader implications of the blast on local security dynamics.
