A gunfight between security forces and Maoists in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district led to the death of two Maoist insurgents and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan on Saturday.

The incident took place during a joint anti-Naxal operation by the CRPF and state police forces in the Jhumra forest region, a known Maoist stronghold.


🔍 Encounter Details

According to official reports:

  • Security forces were conducting a combing operation in the forested area when they were ambushed.

  • The exchange of fire lasted for over an hour.

  • Two Maoists were neutralized, and their weapons were recovered from the site.

  • One CRPF jawan sustained critical injuries and later succumbed.

Additional forces have been deployed in the area, and search operations are ongoing to track remaining Maoists who may have fled.

Senior police officials stated that the operation was based on specific intelligence inputs regarding Maoist movement in the region.
