Shocking Inhumanity Uncovered in Noida Old-Age Home

In a horrifying revelation, 39 elderly individuals were rescued from an old-age home in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, during a joint raid conducted by the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission, Noida Police, and the Department of Social Welfare.


⛓️ Elderly Found Chained, Locked in Basement-Like Rooms

The raid exposed disturbing conditions—one elderly woman was found tied up, while others were confined to dungeon-like rooms with minimal ventilation. Some elderly men had no clothes, while several women were found in torn or incomplete garments, exposing the severe neglect and abuse they were subjected to.


💔 Filth, Neglect, and Human Rights Violations

Reports reveal that many of the rescued individuals were covered in feces and urine-soaked clothing, a sign of extreme neglect. Lack of hygiene, proper clothing, and medical care made the situation worse. The emotional and physical trauma endured by the elderly reflects a grave human rights violation.


🗣️ UP Women’s Commission Flags the Case as ‘Extremely Serious’

A member of the UP State Women’s Commission, present during the raid, called the situation “extremely serious and disturbing.” She confirmed that the matter has been handed over to the Noida Police for deeper investigation and legal action against the facility operators.

Officials stated that the old-age home is under investigation for operating illegally and violating multiple laws under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act and IPC sections related to wrongful confinement and cruelty. Authorities are also probing if financial exploitation of the elderly occurred.

The rescued 39 elderly individuals are currently undergoing medical checkups and are being relocated to safer, government-monitored shelters. The District Administration has assured that immediate support, including clothes, food, and trauma counseling, is being provided.
