
PM Modi Celebrates Ram Navami in Rameswaram, Unveils Mega Infrastructure Projects
On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the nation and embarked on a significant visit to Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. The visit combined spiritual observance and major infrastructure inaugurations.
India’s First Vertical Lift Sea Bridge Inaugurated
The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of India’s first vertical lift sea bridge in Rameswaram. This engineering marvel is designed to allow ships to pass beneath by vertically lifting the central span—enhancing maritime connectivity without compromising rail movement.
The bridge replaces the old Pamban bridge, enhancing transport efficiency between the mainland and Rameswaram island, a key spiritual and tourism hub.
₹8,300 Crore Infrastructure Boost
PM Modi also dedicated a series of rail and road infrastructure projects worth over ₹8,300 crore to the nation. These include the doubling of rail lines, highway expansions, and modernization of key stations across Tamil Nadu. These projects are expected to improve regional mobility, generate employment, and support economic development.
Spiritual Visit to Ramanathaswamy Temple
The Prime Minister offered prayers at the sacred Ramanathaswamy temple, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Clad in traditional attire, PM Modi was seen engaging in rituals, reflecting his deep connection with India’s spiritual heritage.
