
Deputy CM Unveils Digital Portal and Campaign for Sanitation Workers
Chennai, July 6, 2025 – Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a new website for the Sanitation Workers Welfare Board today at the International Toilet Festival 3.0 hosted at Kalaivanar Arangam.
This digital portal, designed to streamline welfare services and outreach, marks the launch of a month‑long sanitation awareness campaign. It’s a collaboration between the Greater Chennai Corporation, Wash Lab, Thooimai Mission, Cheer, and Recycle Bin, focusing on promoting proper toilet usage across the city dtnext.in+2dtnext.in+2dtnext.in+2.

The event included the flagging off of a Toilet Repair Café vehicle, tasked with rapid response cleaning and maintenance of public toilets.

The Sanitation Workers Welfare Board distributed a total of ₹12.79 lakh in financial aid to 30 sanitation workers. Benefits included accidental and natural death compensation, marriage and maternity support, and educational assistance dtnext.in.

Under TAHDCO, a smaller grant was issued to the Sanitation Workers Association in the Kancheepuram Municipal Corporation dtnext.in.
